Plumbing & Heating Contractor
Build a plumbing and heating business in a county of 20,000 households: burst pipes at 2am, furnace servicing before winter, water-heater swaps and the builders' new houses, against a regional franchise and the family firm.
You have a shop with two vans, a licence and a phone that rings at the worst possible hours. Twenty thousand households live in the town and the county around it, on a mix of city water, wells, oil, propane and gas, and every one of them will need a plumber or a furnace tech sooner or later. The decisions are a contractor's: what to charge for an emergency call and for a new furnace, how many licensed technicians to carry through the slow summer, whether to sell maintenance plans that smooth the year, and whether to bid on the builders' new houses or keep to service work. It teaches a trade business where people are the capacity and the bottleneck: billable hours, seasonal demand, and the difference between a service call and a replacement that pays for the month.
