Family Auto Repair Garage
Run a three-bay repair garage in a county of 45,000 people and their cars and pickups: commuters, farm trucks, the plumber's vans and the old sedan that needs one more year, against the dealership's service lane and a quick-lube chain.
You have three bays, a lift each, a diagnostic scanner and a sign on the county road. The town has 18,000 people and the county another 27,000, most of whom drive twenty miles a day and cannot afford to be without a car. The decisions are the garage's: the labour rate when the dealership charges $165 an hour, how many technicians to hire when good ones are the hardest people in town to find, whether to court the local fleets with priority service, and whether to put money into tools for the newer cars or stay with what the farms drive. It teaches a trade business built on trust: billable hours as capacity, parts margin as half the profit, and a reputation that brings the next car in.
